Students in the WorkplaceIndependent Youth believes that gaining experience in your field of interest is a very important part of the entrepreneurial process. It gives you a new perspective while exposing you to all facets of a business.

Independent Youth works with companies across the country to assist students in accessing mentorships, internships, and job shadowing opportunities. When you access the Students in the Workplace program, you are able to connect with experienced entrepreneurs. This hands-on experience is a beneficial part of your professional development.

Exploring your passions is an important part of discovering yourself and understanding what it is that you want to do.

How it works

If you are a high school student that wants to gain experience in a certain field, Independent Youth would love to help you! Just follow the 3 easy steps below and Independent Youth will assist you in getting the internship of your dreams.

This program is FREE to access. We just ask that you are serious about the opportunity and fully committed to this learning experience.

1. Fill out an IY Informational Workplace form.

This information allows us to learn more about you. This also helps us understand your area(s) of interest. Upon completion of the form, you are required to submit a current resume.


2. Wait for Independent Youth to contact you.

A member of the Independent Youth team will contact you within a couple of days to review the information you submitted.


3. Interview with the companies we connect you with.

Once we have found potential opportunities for you, Independent Youth will contact you with information regarding your upcoming interview with the company.
